The Rocky Horror Picture Show will return to the screen at Varsity Cinema, accompanied by a live Shadow Cast performing along to the film.

Sweethearts Brad and Janet, stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite scientist. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker and a creepy butler. Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named ‘Rockv’.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show will return to the screen at Varsity
Cinema, accompanied by a live Shadow Cast performing along to the film, capping a full night of
entertainment in the Drake Neighborhood which begins with a Happy Hour and Queercore Drag
Show at xBk on October 19.
The classic midnight movie, which ran regularly at The Varsity in the 1970s, will screen at 9:30 pm.
The film will be accompanied by a live Shadow Cast performance, lip-syncing and dancing
along to bring the Rocky Horror immersive experience to life. Prop bags will available for purchase in-person.
Prior to the film, film-goers are welcomed to attend a collaborative pre-show happy hour at xBk,
1159 24th Street, running from 5 – 8 pm. Ticket-holders can enjoy exclusive drink discounts and
are encouraged to dress up in their best Rocky Horror Picture Show costumes. For those who
have secured their film tickets in advance, an extra treat awaits. They are eligible to linger and
indulge in the mesmerizing Queercore Drag Show beginning at 8 pm, setting the stage for the
immersive cinematic experience that follows.
