Better Cities Film Festival with Q&A and Panel Discussion

Dates with showtimes for Better Cities Film Festival with Q&A and Panel Discussion
  • Sat, Jun 7

Sat, Jun 7 @ 1:00 pm: Join us for an afternoon of short documentary films and conversation about how people have made their cities, towns, and neighborhoods better followed by panel discussion and Q&A.

Run Time: 117 min.

Join us for a best-of-show screening of the Better Cities Film Festival! BCFF showcases short documentary films profiling stories about improving our cities, towns, and neighborhoods. BCFF was launched with the intent of taking discussion and decisions about urban planning and design out of university classrooms and city council chambers and bringing them to streets to engage the broader community in the vital work of placemaking and neighborhood revitalization. The flagship festival is held annually in Detroit, but we are bringing a screening right here to Des Moines this spring!

The Des Moines program consists of eight short films broken down into three general themes: Those Before, Diverse Populations, and Building a Better City.  The screening will be followed by a discussion panel with a Q&A featuring individuals helping make Central Iowa a more livable and resilient place to call home. Attendees will also be invited to attend an after party at Lucky Horse Beer and Burgers!
